Profile and About Raouf Marzouki Photography
BIO
Belgium born photographer Raouf Marzouki began his career in the fashion industry as a makeup artist, working alongside A-list photographers such as Mark Abrahams, Raphael Mazzucco, Don Flood, and many others. Over the course of his fifteen-year career as a makeup artist Raouf worked with magazines and brands such as Marie-Claire, Elle, Italian Vanity Fair, Lacoste, Ralph Lauren, Gap, Neiman Marcus, Escada and Banana Republic. Raouf’s strong sense of composition, light, and his sharp eye for detail were recognized by the photographers and art directors he worked with and he was encouraged to explore photography. The rest is history.
Of his diverse origins in the arts, Raouf says, “My worlds all come together when I shoot. Everything I have learned from my dramatic arts background, dance training and of course my fifteen-years as a professional makeup artist inspire me when I am creating visuals.” Raouf’s experience as a well-rounded artist in various mediums helps him see both the minutia of an image and the overall impression it makes.
Raouf’s flair for the dramatic and his sophisticated aesthetic have made him a sought after fashion and portrait photographer. His photography has been featured in Schön! Magazine (London), Huf Magazine, Kaltblut Magazine (Berlin), Terroir Magazine (Vancouver, BC), Noi.se Magazine, Fiercive Magazine (Tokyo), Vulkan Magazine (Toronto) and Ugly Magazine and he has photographed celebrities such as Courtney Love, Joan Cusack John Ventimiglia (The Sopranos) and Marc Menchaca (Ozark)
Raouf made his fine art gallery debut in New York City in October 2019.
